Jake Cameron only wants the days to pass more quickly as he waits for the foot-dragging headquarters office to assign a permanent law enforcement officer to boring Liberty Flats, Texas. When Sunny Fannin breezes into town to claim her half of her mother’s estate, she raises a spark of interest. At least now he has something more interesting to watch as Sunny sashays down the street, bullys the town into a semblance of culture, and adopts ragamuffin Teddy when her father dies.
Someone else isn’t as enthralled as Jake, though. And the Ranger’s investigative skills are tested as he tries to protect Sunny from danger. He has no protection for his heart as he falls head over heels for the enticing, know-it-all female.
